I am demonstrating it today at Willerby and am sure everyone will be impressed.
The good work done by Illuminaries was highlighted by everyone at the launch event. I personally would like to highlight the extra mile you went to get to this point. This is delivered through face to face and online training sessions for ECTs and mentors, and includes all of the training materials and related resources. Following our successful partnership with EDT during the pilot phase of the ECF rollout, we chose them as our provider as we believe they offer the most cost-effective, personalised and comprehensive level of support for schools and their ECTs. In particular EDT understand the local and national context ensuring their programme is tailored to these needs and those of our schools.
These take place at three points, including prior to the induction starting June for this year. We are delighted to announce that we are partnering with Education Development Trust to deliver the Early Career Professional Development programme in Sheffield and Rotherham as part of the national rollout of the Early Career Framework. Our experience of the pilot this year has been very positive and feedback from trainees and mentors has all reinforced the view that the training and materials are of the highest quality.
Education Development Trust has worked closely with schools and with the Sheffield Institute of Education, part of Sheffield Hallam University to develop this evidence-led programme to ensure it is based on what really works and how pupils learn, ensuring ECTs have the best start in their careers.
Excellent mentoring will be key to the success of the ECF initiative and so this programme is centred around developing the mentor relationship, including a focussed learning pathway for mentors.
