Raw courage 1984 rapidshare

Ronny Cox Art Hindle M. Emmet Walsh Lois Chiles. I remember all I could see while squinting in the intense sun was blinding white dunes stretched to the end of the earth, a tabula rasa of barren landscape that is both inviting and forbidding, gorgeous and deadly. Over the years, people have gone missing after straying from the known path. This movie really does know how to utilize the barren desert, turning it into a canvas of desperation and forlornness, with wonderful aerial photography.

Get it in there! Now that I got you hooked. Raw Courage somehow straddles the very wide line between cheesy tv movie and inspired auteur film.

It's a bit of a Deliverance copycat, but wholly original in it's setup and execution. Dialogue is clunky, but performances are believable. It's a goofy people hunt film, but it's shot beautifully and intensely - filled with glorious landscapes, visceral close-ups, and effective flashbacks. It's a "run from right wing militia" exploitation film, but also smartly comments on life, politics, and the emotion tied to running.

Three runners, played by Ronny Cox, Art Hindle, and Tim Maier, embark on a grueling mile ultramarathon through a remote desert area of New Mexico, intent on meeting their families at the finish line in a mountainside town the following afternoon.

This already-rugged adventure takes a tragic turn for the worse, however, when our athletic protagonists cross paths with a survivalist militia group and find themselves fighting for their lives against the armed extremists. Alone in the unforgiving wide open spaces of the scorchingly hot terrain, with no weapons and with only sporadic access to water as their pursuers close in for the kill, these men must face the ultimate endurance challenge in a harrowingly nightmarish life-or-death scenario.

Their luck runs out when suddenly the militia goes back on its word and resumes hunting the runners. This time, however, they are not looking to capture them, but to kill them. What are these desert soldiers trying to do? And will the three live to run another marathon?
